Haitian-born filmmaker Raoul Peck has directed documentaries and fiction features, including Sometimes In April, HBO (2004), Lumumba (2000) and The Man by the Shore (1993), which was the first Haitian film to have an American theatrical release and was selected for competition at the 1993 Cannes Film Festival.
